It's Just Wrong

Here is a recent observation on my part. Why is it that whenever people state a negative opinion about something or someone, they feel it necessary to make up something good to go along with it. Mind you, I am a conservative by trade, but I have friends that feel they must always "look at the other side of the argument" (meaning make up something good to go along with the negative remark that they are making about a liberal).

I also notice this when people refer to policies handed down from high above in an organization. I hate the comment, "Yea, well it's pretty stupid, but I guess they have their reasons." This paradox of a comment makes absolutely no sense to me and does not help further the bettering of any stupid policy.

So my point is, sometimes things are just wrong, and there doesn't always have to be a right to go along with them. Let's start calling wrong, wrong, and reserve our that-a-boy’s for more deserving situations.

The Supernatural Void

Here is an interesting question that a lot of people never think about...

What ever happened to the supernatural events of biblical times? Why is it that the only place that we ever witness the supernatural is in Hollywood? Well whether or not you have wondered this, it has bothered me for quiet sometime. I have a theory.

In the bible there are numerous times when God performed a miracle in order to accomplish something or just to show his power (ie - the 10 plagues against Egypt). There is also much reference to demonic possession of humans and animals. So why is it today that we only hear rumors of these things, but never actually witness them ourselves? I believe the first step in understanding this is to look at the evil side of supernatural phenomenon.

Why would Satan and his forces stop using their power in public? Maybe it is because Satan has changed his strategy. Today I would say that most people, even Christians, do not believe in the ability for something supernatural to occur. Let's say for instance that evil forces were constantly possessing people and making them act in ways that would prove that they were truly possessed. This would leave society with proof of the existence of evil spirits. Satan's problem with this is that it would lead to the conclusion that there is also a God. This would be bad for his new strategy, which is remove societies belief in anything outside of science. Therefore, Satan and his beings are simply working behind the scenes, pushing their new tool of humanism.

So the only other question is what about the other side? Why would God not announce from the heavens that he is there and then send down fire upon a city? Well, because this question of whether or not to believe in God is also beneficial for our relationship with God. God does not want to force us to love him and believe in him. If he did that, then it would not be real love. So, if Satan is playing a game of don't let anyone know that we exist and let's see what they do, then God is holding back and seeing if we will still trust him when there is no "scientific proof" that he exists. And that's my take on that.

Love - Oh Boy...

Okay, I know this post is following the sticker post, but I really didn't want to leave that hanging out there as the last thought on the blog. :) So here is something a little heavier:

Well here it is, the mother of all topics, the worst (and best) four letter word that has ever entered into the consciousness of mankind... LOVE.

Well what do I know about it? Not much, but as always, I do have some thoughts. I think that there are two very distinct views on love. Some people believe that love is some fairy-dusted, flowery substance that was destined for two people before the dawn of time, and then there is what I believe. I believe that love is something that does not have a creation date. Love is something that can only be realized later and the creation point will always be mystery. This is what makes it so illusive.

This topic is so very complicated. I mean first you need to understand the difference between emotions, thoughts, and love. Love is not something that you feel, nor is it something that you think, it is something that is. Boy that is so deep that I don't even know if I understand it...

I believe that if you spend enough time with someone, and you devote enough of yourself to them, then over time you will find that you love them. I also believe that once you love someone that there is no going back. You may not like them anymore, or even tolerate them, but you will always love them.

This is why you see women in abusive relationships that keep going back to the guy. That abusive person has captured their love over time and they will never be free of that piece of their heart. (sometimes you have to accept how you feel about someone, but still reject them in your life) That is why it is crucial that you use your head early on in a relationship, and not let the emotions take over before you finally fall in love with someone.

The order is very important - think, feel, love. This is how it works people, don't mess it up, because when you are there, there is NO going back.

Adhesion

Ok, I know it has been a while, but I am a busy boy. I do have many, many thoughts that I am currently pondering over. Though the most pressing issue seems to be freaking stickers. Why do companies feel compelled to put stickers on products that will not come off? I bought a nice Five Star notebook for school, and it had this big sticker on the front. WHY!!! I attempted to remove it, which was a big mistake. After hours of work, I now have a crappier looking cover that bonds to anything. Please, I beg of you, STOP WITH THE FREAKING STICKERS!

I promise, deeper stuff coming soon...
